|For any simple and/or small purposes we decide to design a single sided
board, depeding on the density and the type of components. Sometimes price range
is a demand for the client.
Especially for small sized PC board (stamps) it can be used for a implentation of a engineering change in an existing product without redesigning the complete product. Then a multipanel is most applicable. This multipanel has several PC board (stamp) which keeps production costs low.
|The most common type of PC board is a double sided one. The use of thru hole
vias and component pin makes it a universal one for many products. A combination
of conventional and/or SMD components on both sides is a common practice.
Of course there can be designed a huge variety of types.
|When density and complexity of a project increases we design Multilayer PC Boards from 4 up to 32 layers.
Generally we make use of 4-6 layered boards with thru hole vias, for testing, service-ability and manufacturing costs reason. A combination of conventional and/or SMD components on both sides is a common practice.
Again there can be designed a even larger variety of board types.
When density become a real issue regarding space, a more sophisticated use of vias are available, called blind and buried vias. Blind vias are drilled only partially through the layer pairs, from top or bottom to inner layers. Buried vias are used to interconnect traces between inner layer (pairs) only. Of course this type of design will have its consequences in testing, service-ability and manufacturing costs reason.
For some applications a straight forward board is not sufficient. Sometime a PC board has to be folded into its housing, e.g. a photocamera. These is little space for a rigid (non flexible) board but for a flexible there is.
We design Flex and Flex-rigid boards according PC board production and assembly standards. Espcially we keep in mind the possible mechanical stress during PC board production and assembly. Therefore we design these board with utmost care and dedication.
Although this kind of board is in production more expensive than a "normal" one, this can be a solution to your complex designproject. Of course this type of design will have its severe consequences in testing, service-ability and manufacturing costs reason.
There are so many kinds of p.c. boards, each with it own specification. It is almost impossible to make a correct price quotation without having seen the projectspecification.
